Considered one of the parent instruments, “the mother”, of the modern day ukulele, the ukulele is believed to have received its current tuning of G-C-E-A from the Rajao, which is tuned D-G-C-E-A. This beautiful piece was handcrafted on the island of Oahu at the turn of the twentieth century and remains in phenomenal collectible and playable condition.  Manuel Nunes was one of three luthiers along with Augusto Dias and Jose do Espirito Santo who are credited with inventing the early ukulele.
