New. A beautiful Custom Vento Longscale Tenor Ukulele handcrafted on the Big Island of Hawai’i by Fred Vento of Vento Music. This is a wonderfully handcrafted ukulele by one of Hawaii’s hidden gem luthiers.
This Custom Vento Longscale Tenor Ukulele was handcrafted of a master grade set of curly Hawaiian Koa wood on the face, back, and sides. The neck was carved from solid Honduran Mahogany wood (not Hawaiian Koa wood) with truss rod for added stability and increased sustain on the instrument. Musicians grade Macassar Ebony wood was used on the fingerboard with a matching Macassar Ebony wood bridge in keeping with the earthy theme of the instrument. Classic tie-bridge construction Elegant abalone shell rosette sandwiched with black-white-black purfling lines adding to the beauty of this functional piece of art. Beautiful curly Hawaiian Koa wood ‘Vento’ logo inlay on the headstock with matching Hawaiian Koa wood position markers on 5, 7, 10, and 12 for quick reference. Radiused fretboard for easy chording with bar chords and in playing in higher positions on the neck. In contrast to the typical tenor scale which is around 17 inches, this Longscale tenor has a 19 inch scale length and can be considered as a longscale tenor with a slightly larger body than a tenor. It can be tuned in low G (gCEA) but sounds even better tuned one full step down to Bb6 tuning (F,Bb,D,G). It can also be tuned to baritone tuning of DGBE but you must change the strings to a baritone set of strings. Professional open-geared Grover tuners and a 14:1 gear ratio for precise tuning. Bone nut and saddle and a high gloss poreless nitrocellulose finish.
This beautiful Vento tenor ukulele really sings and has excellent volume and sustain with a nice warm, balanced, and round tone. The clarity and note separation on the instrument is truly wonderful as well. Vento ukuleles rarely surface on the open market as he only makes a handful of instruments each year. Now is your chance to have a phenomenal player instrument from one of Hawaii’s hidden luthiers, Fred Vento of the Big Island of Hawai’i. ID#:220039
