2024. Preowned. Gorgeous Custom Tyde “Learner” Pineapple Concert Ukulele handcrafted by self-taught luthiers Tyler Joersz and Devin Price on the North Shore of beautiful Lake Tahoe. Pronounced “Tide” the company name is a collaboration of the founders names of (Ty) ler and (De) vin, or ” TYDE”.
Tyler and Devin apprenticed under master woodworker and founder of Roundwood Furniture, Cline. Shortly there after, a trip to Hawaii and the love of music is what inspired these two friends to take the furniture skillsets and apply them to handcrafted custom ukuleles, where their love of woodworking and music intersect. Innovation, creativity and a non-traditional approach allow them to build great sounding, gorgeous, and comfortable instruments to travel with ease.
TYDE Music has an appreciation for wood, and understand it is a major life source to our planet. While they do use exotic woods, they prefer to use local, reclaimed, and sustainable woods in their instruments. While looking to reduce waste, they look for contractors that have materials from remodels. As for themselves they look to salvage materials from landfills, furniture scraps, and even local piers and docks. Sometimes when customers place an order for a ukulele, the customers have salvaged or left over pieces of wood that they ask to be reused in their instrument, this is something TYDE gets excited about to use.
This beautiful Tyde “Learner” Pineapple Concert ukulele boasts a solid Hawaiian koa wood top and back with a one-piece cherry wood neck and sides, a combination that provides greater structural integrity with exceptional volume and a wonderful sound. The fingerboard is carved from bubinga wood and laser-engraved, with notes. The learner model also incorporates all 7 natural notes, a full chord chart, and the ever-useful “Circle of Fifths” displayed around the sound hole for quick reference – this ukulele provides you all you need when playing without having to tote additional instructional materials with you!. A side-of-body quick reference chord chart was laser-engraved and provides a nice touch and quick reference when playing.
A fantastic ukulele for the starter and seasoned player as well. Quick attack and nice projection as well. The concert size makes this smaller and more portable than a tenor with the benefit of a classic alto sound. Classic wood strap buttons have also been installed on the neck and butt of the instrument. ID#250023
