Custom Toda Tenor Ukulele

C. 2017. Beautiful Toda Tenor Ukulele handcrafted in Japan with the utmost care and a feel of simple elegance with remarkable projection, sustain, and tone. A highly recommended recording level instrument that is rarely seen outside of Japan.

This wonderful Toda tenor ukulele was handcrafted of coveted Brazilian Rosewood back and sides and a master grade Cedar wood soundboard. Brazilian Rosewood is one of the world’s finest tone woods available on the market. It is highly regarded in the guitar community for its tonal qualities and has made its way to the ukulele community in limited quantities due to the rarity of the wood. The fingerboard and bridge was cut from Macassar Ebony wood in keeping with the theme of natural elegance in the build. Honduras mahogany wood neck for added stability. Hawaiian Koa wood top and back binding with a matching end graft and pick guard also gives a mild contrast to the Cedar wood soundboard while showcasing technique, creativity, and skill of the luthier. Curly Hawaiian Koa wood pick guard. Slotted headstock. Professional Gotoh slotted headstock tuners for reduced weight and quick and precise tuning. Arm bevel for comfort as you cradle the instrument. Side sound port for a monitor-like effect, allowing the sound to project upwards toward the player as well. Elegant non-poreless satin style finish. Minor play wear.

The Brazilian rosewood back and sides, combined with the Cedar wood top, give this instrument a highly resonant tone with tremendous projection and clarity. The X-bracing also helps enhance the stiffness on the soundboard and responsiveness of the instrument, giving the ukulele a tremendous amount of sustain as well. Nice crisp and clean notes all the way up the neck with balanced lows and mid-rage with crispy high notes as well. This ukulele is a tough one to find in the US and a phenomenal playing instrument.
