Takahashi Shinji has participated and won “Best in Show” at the Ukulele Guild of Hawaii (UGH) for the past two years running. Absolutely meticulous and stunning construction with a tone that is secondary to none. Handcrafted in Nagano, Japan by legendary luthier Takahashi Shinji, this Martin 5K Concert replica ukulele is constructed of the finest materials, even the tuning pegs have been custom ordered by T. Shinji to add to the feel of the original Martin 5K Concerts and the mother of pearl is “jointed” to replicate the original pieces of the 1920s that are valued at nearly $25K to date. Indeed, a classic and acute building style that only comes with experience but yet a contemporary flair in aesthetics and a sound that appeals to the most acute ears.
This Custom Martin 5K Concert replica comes complete with premium Hawaiian curly koa wood face, back, and sides. In addition, this beauty boasts classic custom order “Martin Style” friction tuners similar to the ones used on the the actual Martin 5K concert ukuleles of the 1920s, white celluloid binding on front and back with bound fretboard and black dot side position markers, black-white pinstripe on soundboard and back and around soundhole. In addition, a wonderful mother of pearl inlay on the soundboard, back, headstock, and fretboard position markers. Ebony fretboard and classic curly koa bridge. Finished with a beautiful high gloss finish. Remarkable tonal qualities. Perfect balance, crisp highs and deep lows and perfect intonation as well. Wonderful tonal qualities. 日本の一流ルシアー、高橋信治さんのマーチン５Kコンサートのレプリカです。高橋信二さんはウクレレギルドオブハワイで２００５年と２００６年に”Best in Show” 賞を受賞された方です。細かい所まで素晴らしく作られ，音も最高です。特上のカーリーコアで作られ、チューニングペグもマーチンの５Kのオリジナルとできるだけ同じなるため高橋さんによって特別注文され、真珠層がつけられたものです。マーチンの５Kは１９２０年代に作られたもので今では２万５千ドルくらいの価値のあるものです。経験と技術によるクラシックな作りですが、どこかに現代的な雰囲気を表し，音も素晴らしくきれいです。ボディーはカーリーコアで実際のマーチン５Kに使われていたチューナー に似た“マーチンスタイル”のチューナーを特別に使っています。 白のセルロイドバインディングがボディーのトップ、バック，フレットボードに入っており、黒のサイドポジションマーカーが入っています。サウンドホール、バック，サウンドボードには白黒のピンストライピングが入っています。 真 珠層のインレイがサウンドボード、バック，ヘッドストック，フレットボードのポジションマーカーに装飾されています。フレットボードはエボニーでブリッジ はカーリーコアです。ラッカー塗装で仕上がっています。音のバランスもよく，高い音も低い音もきれいでイントネーションも完璧です。
