New. Custom ukuleles by Pegasus Ukuleles. Beautiful Pegasus 4-String Tenor Ukulele handcrafted by luthier Bob Gleason of  Kurtistown, HI. Bob handcrafts some of not only the most aesthetically pleasing ukuleles available on the market but also professional recording level instruments for both the professional musician and recreational player. Bob has been handcrafting some of Hawaii’s finest guitars and ukuleles for nearly 50 years!

Built in the traditional shape with a less round-bodied lower bout, this stunningly beautiful custom Pegasus tenor ukulele was handcrafted from master grade Hawaiian Koa wood on the face, back, and sides with a matching master grade Hawaiian curly Koa wood headstock plate. Gorgeous Hawaiian Koa wood fretboard and bridge and matching curly Hawaiian Koa wood top and back binding give a subtle contrast and tie in beautifully with the overall earthy theme of the instrument. The neck has been carved from Spanish Cedar and reinforced with a carbon fiber truss rod for added structural integrity, reduced weight, and increased sustain, transferring the energy as it moves through the strings and the neck in to the sound box of the instrument with greater stiffness and quicker resolve. The fretboard has been slightly radiused at 16″ for ease of play on the wrist angle in higher positions on the neck. Classic mother-of-pearl ‘Pegasus’ inlay on the headstock with abalone shell position markers on 5, 7, 10, 12, and 15 and a special Hawaiian Manu o Ku seabird inlay on the third fret. Beautiful reconstructed stone rosette. The heel cap and bridge also have a hand-cut piece of abalone shell as a signature mark of Pegasus Ukuleles. All the shell inlay is solid shell. No laminates were used. Gorgeous black-red-black accent lines on the top, back, and sides of the instrument attesting to the skills of the luthier and complimenting the natural reddish hues of the Hawaiian Koa wood. Side sound port for a monitor-like effect by which the sound projects both upwards towards the player as well as outward towards the audience. Professional Schaller GrandTune geared tuners with Hawaiian Koa wood buttons for smooth and precise tuning. High gloss nitrocellulose finish.

All of Bob’s ukuleles are meticulously crafted from the finest materials and with stunning attention to detail.
