Circa 1870. Octavianno Joao Nunes machete handcrafted on the island of Madeira, Portugal. Octavianno is regarded as one of the finest luthiers of his time handcrafting some of the most sought after Maderian Rajao, Machete de braga, and Machetinho instruments. This early example is of a machete de braga, one of two parent instruments to the ukulele. ID#190037
