Preowned. Circa 2019. Custom Moore Bettah “Hawaiian Mo’o” Tenor Ukulele. Beautiful Custom Moore Bettah Tenor Ukulele handcrafted by master luthier Chuck Moore of the Big Island, HI. Chuck handcrafts some of not only the most aesthetically pleasing ukuleles available on the market but also professional recording level instruments for both the professional musician and recreational player.
This wonderful and extremely rare Moore Bettah tenor ukulele was crafted from the finest materials. Gorgeous master grade Hawaiian curly Koa wood face, back, and sides. Macassar Ebony wood fretboard and bridge and a matching Macassar Ebony wood top and back binding. The neck was hand-carved from Spanish Cedar wood and is carbon fiber reinforced for added stability. Side sound port for monitor-like experience. The fretboard, headstock, soundboard, side, and back of the body boasts an elegant black-green-black purfling line, beautifully contrasting the natural dark hues of this set of master grade Hawaiian curly Koa wood. Gorgeous artistic headstock “Hawaiian Mo’o” inlay handcrafted of dyed Maple wood burl for aesthetic appeal and a matching dyed Maple wood burl rosette inlay in keeping with the theme of the instrument. The Mo’o are mythical Hawaiian lizards that, according to our ‘kupuna’ or Hawaiian elders, are guardians of the people. 14 fret joint to the body for added reach high up on the neck and 17 overall frets to the sound hole. Gotoh UPT Tuners and a beautiful high gloss nitrocellulose finish.
A big and bold sound with great clarity, projection, and excellent sustain as well. Classic Hawaiian Koa wood bark with a nice warm tone as well. This instrument is very well balanced tonally all the way up the neck and spot on intonation as well. Highly recommended player piece. A rare find, this is as good as it gets for recording artists, weekend giggers, and the uke-lover at heart! ID#210053
