1920s Martin 3K Soprano Ukulele

1920s Martin 3K Soprano Ukulele. A rare find with a phenomenal sound from the 1920s, this ukulele has a sound that is huge, full, and balanced and a projection that will rival a tenor ukulele!

The 1920s era model Martin & Co ukuleles are truly wonderful historical pieces and benchmark an era of development for the Martin company with regard to its ukulele production and expansion of its models. These instruments came at a time when interest in Hawaii and Hawaiian music continued to be the rise and Martin embraced some of its finest work with the Style 3 and introduction of the coveted Style 5. This 1920 Martin & Co 3K soprano ukulele can be characterized by its all Hawaiian Koa wood construction for the body, extended ebony fretboard with 17 frets to the soundhole, a Mahogany wood bridge, and ivroid top and back binding. Double position markers on positions 5, 7, and 10 for quick reference with a black-white-black accent inlay through the center of the fretboard.

The instrument remains in all original condition with honset play wear and has its share of surface scratches and dings but no cracks or repairs. It is in quite wonderful condition considering it is roughly 100 years old. The sound is truly amazing. Full, balanced, and an amazing projection. Note separation and clarity all throughout the neck. This one is perfect for the collector who is starting out or the musician looking for a great playing vintage Martin ukulele with that classic aged Hawaiian Koa wood sound. ID#210088
