Beautiful and extremely rare Manuel Nunes soprano ukulele from the early 1909 in gorgeous original condition. This beautiful piece was handcrafted on the island of Oahu at the turn of the twentieth century. Manuel Nunes was one of three luthiers along with Augusto Dias and Jose do Espirito Santo who are credited with creating the early ukulele.
Gorgeous Hawaiian Koa wood face, back, and sides with all Koa wood neck and bridge. Original Manuel Nunes label remain in exceptional condition. Original ivroid tuner upgrade consistent with time period. The soundboard has one hairline fracture that could be addressed.
This uke is a true historical piece from Hawaii’s golden age.
