Lyman has been building custom ukuleles here in Hawaii for a number of years and handcrafts some of Hawaii’s finest masterpieces that are both aesthetically appealing and wonderful in tone. Mr. Kazuyuki Sekiguchi of Southern All-Stars (Japan) and legendary ukulele player Bill Tapia (Hawaii) are amongst the elite group of musicians who have throughly enjoyed the sound and playability of Lymana Ukuleles.
Constructed of gorgeous blonde Hawaiian Koa wood face, back, and sides, this custom piece is also set up with a solid East-Indian Rosewood fretboard and bridge. Abalone shell position markers on positions 3, 5, 7, 10, 12, and 15 on the fretboard for quick reference and matching side position markers on the side profile of the neck for a top-down perspective. Simple black-white-black-white-black rosette, Spanish cedar neck with graphite rod for added stability and increased sustain, and an Amazon Rosewood faceplate with classic ‘L’ logo of mother-of-pearl with black-white binding. Hand-cut bone nut and saddle with faux tortoise shell top and back binding in keeping with the simple but elegant feel of this custom Lymana tenor ukulele. Professional Waverly tuners with curly Hawaiian Koa wood buttons for smooth and precise tuning. High gloss nitrocellulose finish.
A beautiful and rare piece that rings true with wonderful tones, rich and clear, with tremendous projection and sustain. Handcrafted here in Hawaii, the tones on this uke are absolutely breathtaking.
