Preowned. 2017. Beautiful Custom Luis Feu de Mesquita Tenor Ukulele handcrafted in Greenwood, Ontario, Canada.
Luthier Profile
Luis Alberto Feu de Mesquita and his ancestry goes back to Andalusia in the south of Spain where the modern guitar evolved. Coming from this region, he was exposed to the richness and passion of Flamenco from an early age. He built his first guitar in his mid-teens and ended up making guitars for other members in his band. By age 18 he had already built and repaired several guitars, ultimately finding that construction was more fulfilling than playing.
After moving to Canada in 1970 to attend college Luis graduated as a mechanical engineer, began his career, married, and had children. Throughout this entire period of time, he continued building and repairing guitars after work and on weekends. Later, life changing events brought him to the summation that he needed to nourish his passion for building guitars and LFdM Guitars was born. From then, Luis subsequently undertook more formal training with master luthier Sergei de Jonge to further refine his skills.
Engineering has also contributed significantly to his approach to luthiery and brought out the desire for perfection with every instrument he built.
