(Circa 2001.) Extremely rare Custom Leilani Tenor Ukulele handcrafted in Florida, USA by one of Japan’s finest luthiers – Hale Leilani. Leilani moved with his family to Florida from Japan where he continued his passion for ukulele luthiery and handcrafted some of his finest work. Unfortunately, Leilani has since passed away in 2007 but a limited number of his ukuleles continue to carry his legacy of a wonderfully handcrafted and playing custom ukulele.

Built in in 2001 of the finest woods and materials this beautiful custom Leilani comes with Hawaiian koa wood face, back, and sides, and a matching curly Koa wood neck with maple wood laminate for added strength and stability, an ebony wood fretboard and bridge, white celluloid top binding, paua shell purfling on soundboard with matching paua shell “arrowhead” shaped rosette and soundhole. High gloss finish and pickup installed for quick plug-n-play access. Cutaway design for easy reach high up on the neck. No cracks. No repairs. Some cosmetic blemishes. Finish checking throughout – also consistent with the age of the instrument. Minimal fretboard wear.
Excellent players uke with well balanced tones. This is an extremely rare and sought after ukulele with a phenomenal tone. Very warm tones with nice crisp highs and mid-range tones with excellent lows as well.
