This custom Ko’olau tenor ukulele is the CS model by designation with all the added amenities that really lends itself to being both aesthetically pleasing and a wonderful recording level ukulele. Only a limited number of custom ukuleles are handcrafted by master luthier Noa Bonk each year.

The back and sides of the soundbox was handcrafted with a gorgeous set of legendary Brazilian Rosewood, one of the world’s finest tone woods available on the market and gives this instrument a deep resonant tone with a tremendous amount of sustain. The soundboard is a musician’s grade German Spruce that offers nice and balanced highs. Matching Brazilian Rosewood bridge and fretboard with a slight radius on the fretboard for ease of the wrist angle and added comfort. Top and back Rosewood binding for aesthetic appeal with a beautiful abalone ‘paua’ shell rosette. A simple but elegant top, back, and side red purfling lines also give this instrument a classy appeal. Honduras mahogany wood neck for insured stability. Brazilian Rosewood headstock veneer and professional Waverly open-geared tuners with custom Brazilian Rosewood buttons for precise tuning and in keeping with the theme of the instrument.  The instrument also boasts a stylish mother-of-pearl inlay for the Ko’olau logo on the headstock and a ‘fish scale’ pattern inlay on the 12th position of reconstructed stone and mother-of-pearl for quick reference when playing. Beautiful high gloss lacquer finish on body with satin style finish on the neck allows for the player’s hands to move freely up and down the neck without concern of ‘sticking’ as you play.

Tonally, this beautiful Custom Ko’olau CS Tenor Ukulele is a true recording-level instrument with nice crisp and clean tones all the way up the neck. The Brazilian Rosewood adds to the deep rich low tones and the German Spruce makes this instrument well balanced in the mid-range and highs. Wonderful clarity, tremendous sustain, and a lively projection. Perfect intonation all the way up the neck.
