C. 2012. A beautiful and rare KoAloha Pineapple Sunday handcrafted by Alvin ‘Pops’ Okami in Honolulu, Hawaii.
This beautiful pineapple ukulele was handcrafted out of Hawaiian Koa wood face, back, and sides, with a matching Hawaiian Koa wood fingerboard and bridge. The neck was carved from Honduran mahogany giving it greater stability. The body of this pineapple ukulele is a concert size but the neck and scale is a true tenor size and so you get a very big sound out of the smaller body when paired with the longer tenor neck. It’s a wonderful combination for this model.
Bright and bold sounding with excellent projection and sustain. A wonderful playing ukulele with great breath in tone. Some minor finish chipping at the headstock and one small location on the back (see photos) but a great playing and sounding ukulele perfect for both the musician and the ukulele enthusiast. Signed by Alvin ‘Pops’ KoAloha.
