This tenor ukulele features beautiful Hawaiian Koa wood for the back and sides, a classic choice in the guitar and ukulele community, and is complemented by a Sitka spruce soundboard. The instrument is elegantly finished with dark curly Hawaiian Koa wood binding on both the top and back, as well as a matching figured Hawaiian Koa wood end graft. The fretboard is made from Central American Bocote wood and is bound in figured Hawaiian Koa wood to maintain the cohesive aesthetic. Additional design elements include a slotted headstock with an ebony wood faceplate and a Hawaiian Koa wood back headstock veneer, enhancing the ukulele’s simple yet elegant look. A gorgeous pendeloque-inspired abalone shell rosette adorned with elegant black-white-black purfling lines all throughout adds a touch of sophistication. The radiused ebony wood fingerboard (16″) is designed for playing comfort, particularly in higher positions, and features a compensated bone nut and saddle. The radius on the fretboard contributes to a more comfortable wrist angle. Brass-style position markers are inlaid on the side of the bound fretboard for easy reference, allowing the top-down view to maintain a clean and elegant appearance. The ukulele’s mahogany wood neck includes a truss rod insert for added stability and increased sustain. An art deco-inspired wood inlay made from ebony and Milo wood graces the back. The classic “KG” logo is inlaid in abalone shell. Premium Waverly machine tuners ensure smooth and precise tuning. The body is finished in high-gloss nitrocellulose, while the neck has a satin finish for smooth playability.

This instrument is a true joy to play, offering a beautiful tone with a lovely response and lightweight feel. The intonation is perfectly set, resulting in a balanced sound across the neck, full of clarity and articulation with a sweet, melodic tone. The dense Hawaiian Koa wood provides a focused mid-range, while the spruce top adds shimmering high notes—a wonderfully harmonious combination of sound and aesthetics. This full custom ukulele is highly recommended and rarely available on the open market from one of Hawaii’s esteemed ukulele luthiers. ID#260022
