ケリー・チャー・ウクレレ

Here is a beautiful custom made Kerry Char Tenor ukulele. Local-boy Kerry Char has gone back to his roots here to Hawaii by constructing some of the finest handcrafted ukuleles around. Born on the island of Oahu, Kerry is most recognized for his Flamenco and Classical guitars and has been working with stringed instruments for nearly 25 years. Now, acclaimed Peruvian guitarist Alfredo Muro is one amongst a number of musicians who continues to enjoy and record with Kerry’s classical guitars. In addition, Kerry is also regarded as one of the foremost in vintage stringed instrument restoration nationwide and frequently receives requests for restoration of rare historical pieces from museums throughout the world. And now, Kerry has taken his knowledge and love of building back to his roots and enjoys constructing the finest of stringed instruments with the best of materials out of his shop in Portland, Oregon.

This wonderful custom tenor ukulele boasts a rare combination of prized Brazillian rosewood on the back and sides with legendary Adirondack spruce soundboard. This combination is one of the most sought after in the guitar community and rarely found amongst ukuleles because of the rarity of the wood. Macassar ebony fretboard and bridge with compensated slotted bridge to adjust for either a low-G or high-G set-up. Radiused fretboard, white celluloid top and back binding, bound fretboard and bound headstock with inlaid wheat style rope-bound appeal on soundboard and matching rosette. Mastodon ivory (fossilized) nut and saddle, premium high gloss lacquer finish and abalone shell inlay position markers and torch inlay just like the classic Martin 5K appointments.

A very rare find from one of the world’s finest luthiers. Excellent projection and sustain with very complex and chocolatey yet balanced tones. Intonation is set perfectly and ease of play is absolutely wonderful on this instrument. Center balanced in terms of overall weight of the instrument which makes it easy to cradle as well. Highly recommended. This uke is a phenomenal player instrument
