Kamaka “Ohta-san” Concert Ukulele

Preowned. Kamaka “Ohta-san” ukulele. Developed in partnership with ukulele virtuoso Herb Ohta Sr. in the 1960s, the bell shaped Kamaka Ohta-san Ukulele is an iconic Kamaka design that yields a wonderful and full sound. This Kamaka Ohta-san concert ukulele remains in excellent original condition with beautiful curly Hawaiian Koa wood. Constructed of curly Hawaiian Koa wood on the face, back, and sides with gorgeous black vertical streaking, the instrument also boasts an ebony fretboard and bridge, curly Maple wood top binding and beautiful top rope purfling and rosette that pays tribute to the forefathers of the ukulele Jose do Espirito Santo, Manuel Nunes, and Augusto Dias – who incorporated the traditions of rope marquetry into their builds in the late 1800s. Gorgeous mother-of-pearl Kamaka headstock inlay and matching mother-of-pearl position markers. Classic friction Schaller tuners and a gloss finish.

This ukulele has a wonderful balance with excellent projection, sustain, and a nice clarity to it as well. It has a very even tone with that classic Hawaiian Koa wood bark we have all grown to love. Highly recommended player uke for the true uke lover or weekend enthusiast. ID#220072
