Kamaka Pineapple Ukulele (Special Model)

カマカ・パイナップル・ウクレレ(スペシャル・モデル)

Beautiful Kamaka ‘Special’ Pineapple of the early 1930s. It is said that the pineapple model was the very uke that saved Kamaka from going bankrupt during the early stages of production. This beauty is made entirely out of Hawaiian Koa. There is no fretboard as these early models never came with them . The frets themselves were placed in on the neck. This Kamaka Pineapple is a rare find. Not only is it a rare ‘Special’ blue label model uke it is in wonderful original condition. There are no cracks. No fractures. No breaks in the wood what-so-ever. Just some light strum marks and a few nicks from play. The joints are clean and the decals in wonderful condition as well. The neck is straight and the frets and bridge are secure. There is no loose movement at all. In fact, this is a phenomenal player uke as well as a true and historic collectible.  Nice long deep lows and a very warm sound with nice sustain.
