Preowned. Label says, 2018 but the instrument was completed and strung up “as new” in 2022 since this was not a commission. Beautiful Beau Hannam Tenor Ukulele handcrafted by Australian luthier Beau Hannam who now handcrafts his fine instruments out of his shop in Colorado, USA. Hannam ukuleles are functional pieces of art and have been regarded as some of the finest handcrafted instruments in the world. Each is uniquely handcrafted with the utmost attention to detail and yield a wonderful full tone. His most recent accomplishment was a custom ukulele handcrafted for a benefit fundraiser for former President Jimmy Carter in 2020. Prior to delivery, the special ukulele was played by famed musician, Eddie Vedder.

This beautiful Custom Beau Hannam Tenor Ukulele was meticulously handcrafted with a gorgeous set of Tamarind back and sides and a master grade Bear Claw Sitka spruce soundboard that is absolutely stunning with a phenomenal tap tone. Gabon ebony wood fretboard and bridge with a rasdius for ease of play in the higher positions on the neck. Soft sunburst Alaskan Yellow cedar wood neck with sculpted heel for added comfort high up on the neck. Side sound port for monitor-like effect by which the sound the sound fires both upward toward the player and outward toward the audience. Tamarind mosaic rosette with b-w-b purfling lines and matching b-w-b purfling lines on the headstock, fretboard, soundboard, side of the body, and back of the instrument attesting to the skill level of the luthier. White mother-of-pearl dot position markers on positions 3, 5, 7, 10, 12, 15, and 17 for quick reference. Gorgeous rosette that has been crafted of roughly 10 different woods in a mosaic ring. Professional Waverly tuners fixed with ebony buttons for precise and smooth tuning. Nitrocellulose high gloss finish.

This instrument is absolutely wonderful with excellent projection and sustain. The instrument is well balanced with a nice warm sound and bold low end, wonderful clarity, and spot on intonation. This wood combination of Tamarind and Bear Claw Sitka spruce lends itself to a full and rich sound that will appeal to both the professional musician as well as the recreational player.
