Custom Halekoa Tenor Ukulele

2010. Preowned. Custom ukuleles by Halekoa Ukulele. Beautiful custom Halekoa tenor ukulele handcrafted by Steve Williams of Honolulu, HI in  original condition. Constructed of gorgeous Hawaiian Koa wood face, back, and sides. Rosewood fretboard and bridge with a Honduras mahogany neck for added stability. Beautiful maple wood top and back binding with a classy rope wood inlay center back seem for added aesthetic appeal and matching soundboard rope purfling and rosette in keeping with the theme of the ukulele. 14 fret joint to the body with 21 overall frets to the soundhole and a bone nut and saddle set up. Lacquer finish. Grover friction tuners. Classic Halekoa ‘throwback’ headstock design, paying tribute to the forefathers of early ukulele design.

Nice classic Koa sound and a very light weight ukulele as well. Excellent clarity, sustain, and projection. The instrument does have its share of nicks and dings over years of enjoyment and one area on the lower bout of the soundboard where a finish check, possibly a hairline fracture, has developed. It is entirely stable “as is” and when pressed on gently shows little to no movement. The overall center balance of the instrument is also wonderful and is easy to cradle up against your body when playing. If you’re looking for a nice player ukulele from a custom luthier in Hawaii at a great price this may be one for you. ID#:210023
