1960s Gibson Tenor Ukulele

Circa 1960s. Preowned. A gorgeous example of a vintage Gibson tenor ukulele – style 2. This uke was constructed with a mahogany wood soundboard, back, and sides and a Brazilian rosewood fingerboard and bridge with classic bridge pin set up. The instrument has a twelve fret joint to the body and eighteen overall frets to the soundhole. Classic white celluloid top and back binding. Strap button at the butt of the instrument. Satin style finish.

Classic tenor model Gibson ukuleles are highly sought after by both musicians and collectors. They tend to have been played … and played… and played … and this one is no exception. It bears definite play wear – but along with this came a very refined and mature sound. The all mahogany wood construction lends itself to a very warm and balanced sound with a nice mellow tone. The sustain and projection of this instrument is wonderful as well. Tuners have been changed to professional Gotoh UPT geared tuners for quick and precise tuning. A wonderful ukulele for the collector, musician, or ukulele enthusiast looking for that classic vintage sound.
