Preowned. Custom E. Tavares tenor Ukulele handcrafted in Maui, Hawaii by luthier Edmond Tavares of the Ukulele Guild of Hawaii. Edmond loves to incorporate the natural characteristics of the wood into his builds, so you will find some unique features in the wood, such as wood knots, showcased in his builds as well.
This gorgeous custom Edmond Taraves ukulele is made of golden curly Hawaiian Koa wood from the island of Maui on the face, back, and sides. Hawaiian Kolohala wood, or pheasant wood, on the fretboard and bridge, with a Hawaii-grown toon wood neck. Dark Hawaiian koa wood top and back binding in keeping with the theme of an all Hawaii-wood instrument. Matching Hawaiian Koa wood rosette with black-white-black purfling lines on the headstock, top, back, and sides of the instrument. Side sound port for a monitor-like experience, by which the sound fires both upward toward the player and outward toward the audience.
This instrument has a classic Hawaiian koa wood mid-range with lots of punch and projection. A fantastic player ukulele that rarely surfaces due to the limited number of instruments Edmond handcrafts each year. Now is your chance to own a Hawaii-made ukulele from a luther of the Ukulele Guild of Hawaii at a fraction of the cost of much of what is sold out of Hawaii.
