This gorgeous DeVine tenor ukulele is handcrafted of the famed “Brazilian Rosewood” – a premium set of master grade Brazilian Rosewood wood face, back and sides handpicked from a limited stock of reserve musician’s grade wood in Eric’s stock of premium woods. The gorgeous colored Brazilian Rosewood adds to the overall elegant ambiance of this beautiful piece. Solid flamed Hawaiian Koa wood neck with graphite rod for added stability and increased sustain of the ukulele. Matching Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard and bridge and a Gabon ebony wood top headstock plate in keeping with the elegant theme of the instrument. Muse design with upper bout porting system and side sound port, accentuating the low end response and attributing to a remarkable sustain of the instrument. The rosette and soundboard inlay was meticulously done with curly Hawaiian Koa wood and ebony wood giving it a subtle but very elegant appeal. Gorgeous golden curly Koa wood top and back binding with a matching bound fretboard for ease of play up and down the neck. Bone nut and saddle. Meticulous scroll inlay on the fingerboard, bridge, and matching position markers have been inlaid on positions 3, 5, 7, 10, 12, and 15.
Classic headstock design a mother-of-pearl and Hawaiian curly Koa wood DeVine logo inlay. Elegant black-white pin-striped purfling on top, back, and sides. A side sound port for monitor-like effect and professional fine-tune Waverly machine tuners for precise tuning and classic appeal. Nitrocellulose high-gloss finish. The instrument has undergone three repairs on the back (only) where there were hairline fractures that set in over time. Brazilian Rosewood is one of the finest tonewoods in the world but it does require additional maintenance in contrast to other woods and hairline fractures are common for this wood. The repair work was done by Japan’s finest luthier specializing in repairs of premium guitars and ukuleles. No cleats were used on the inside of the instrument and the hairlines were addressed perfectly. There are no structural concerns to the areas with completed repairs although they can be seen in certain angles and with focused lighting. Please see photos below for more details.
