Custom Lymana Ukulele. Beautiful Custom Lymana Tenor ukulele by Lyman Ashikawa of Oahu, HI. Lyman has been handcrafting custom ukuleles here in Hawaii for a number of years and he continues to fashion some of Hawaii’s finest masterpieces that are both aesthetically appealing and wonderful in tone. Mr. Kazuyuki Sekiguchi of Southern All-Stars (Japan) and legendary ukulele player Bill Tapia (Hawaii) are amongst the elite group of musicians who throughly enjoy the sound and playability of Lymana Ukuleles.
Constructed of African mahogany back, and sides (stained), and an Engelmann spruce top, this custom piece also emphasizes a solid rosewood fretboard and bridge, an African mahogany neck with graphite bar, faux tortoise shell top and back binding with bone nut and saddle, rosewood faceplate with a wonderful mother-of-pearl shell inlay of ‘L’ on the headstock. Professional open-geared Gotoh UK-700 machine tuners are used for precise tuning and the uke also boasts a gorgeous sunburst finish which compliments the subtle color variation in the stained African mahogany wood.
A beautiful and rare piece that rings true with wonderful tones, rich and clear, and handcrafted here in Hawaii. Excellent mid-range and high tones and well balanced deep tones as well. Easy to play all the way up the neck. Highly recommended in craftsmanship and tone and amongst the best and rarest to be built in Hawaii.
