Custom Lymana Ukulele. Beautiful Custom Lymana Tenor ukulele by Lyman Ashikawa of Oahu. Lyman has been building custom ukuleles here in Hawaii for a number of years and handcrafts some of Hawaii’s finest masterpieces that are both aesthetically appealing and wonderful in tone. Mr. Kazuyuki Sekiguchi of Southern All-Stars (Japan) and legendary ukulele player Bill Tapia (Hawaii) are amongst the elite group of musicians who throughly enjoy the sound and playability of Lymana Ukuleles.
Constructed of a master grade curly mango (incredible tone-wood!) back, and sides, and an englemann spruce top, this custom piece is set up with a solid ebony fretboard and bridge and a spanish cedar neck. Curly koa wood binding on top and back with matching purfling. Nut and saddle are made of bone and a gorgeous paua shell inlay on soundboard and matching paua shell rosette has also been meticulously inlaid. Professional open-geared Gotoh UK-700 machine tuners. Subtle but gorgeous yellow tinge has been applied to the soundboard to match the yellows and greens found as natural characteristics of the mango wood back and sides.
A beautiful and rare piece that rings true with wonderful tones, rich and clear, and handcrafted here in Hawaii. The tones on this uke are absolutely breathtaking. Very warm and precise yet complex all the way up the neck. Highly recommended in craftsmanship and tone and amongst the best and rarest to be built in Hawaii.
