Beautiful Les Rietfors Tenor Ukulele in wonderful refinished condition. This piece is tremendously rare and a wonderful collector`s and player’s piece.
Premium Hawaiian Koa face, back, & sides with maple wood fretboard and bridge. Beautiful black celluloid top binding with black-white purfling on soundboard. Hawaiian flag wood inlay on headstock. Honduran mahogany neck and Grover open-geared machine tuners for precision tuning. The uke has no fretboard wear. No scratches in the finish. I had this instrument pore-filled and glossed with a nitrocellulose high gloss finish even better than the original finish. This instrument came from a musician over on the big island and is an incredible player ukulele. It is tremendously bright and has excellent volume and sustain. The instrument comes with a Larivee “Prefix” pick-up for quick plug-n-play as well.
This is a definite keeper for both the collector and the true player. Les Rietfors’ ukuleles are amongst the most desired custom ukuleles to have been made and tremendously difficult to locate. Unfortunately, Les Rietfors has since passed away in 2005 but his love of music, the Hawaiian culture and people, and the art of fine luthiery lives on through his legacy of beautifully handcrafted instruments.
