Gorgeous Hawaiian Koa face, back, & sides with lacewood fretboard and bridge. Beautiful faux tortoise shell top and back binding with b-w-b-w-b rosette and top purfling on soundboard. Classic Hawaiian flag wood inlay on headstock with honduran mahogany neck and Grover friction tuners. White celluloid bound headstock and fretboard with abalone shell position markers on 3, 5, 7, 10, and 12.
Les Rietfors soprano ukuleles are great player pieces and this one also has exceptional tones. It is tremendously bright and has excellent volume, range and sustain. This is a definite keeper for both the collector and the true player. Mr. Rietfors’ ukuleles are amongst the most desired custom ukuleles to have been made and tremendously difficult to locate.
Unfortunately, Les Rietfors has since passed away in 2005 but his love of music, the Hawaiian culture and people, and the art of fine luthiery lives on through his legacy of beautifully handcrafted instruments.
