クラ・ウクレレ

A work of art! Beautiful custom tenor Kula ukulele handcrafted by master luthier Crist Pung of the Big Island, HI. Crist handcrafts very unique aesthetically pleasing ukuleles that also play wonderfully for both the weekend musician and recreational player.

This wonderful custom tenor ukulele is crafted from a gorgeous Hawaiian spalted Mango wood back and sides with a Sitka spruce top for added clarity and crisp bright notes. Ebony fretboard, bridge, and head-plate with bloodwood binding and BWB purfling on body, fingerboard, and head-plate and stylish matching end graph and heel cap. The neck is carved from Honduran mahogany wood and is carbon fiber reinforced for added stability. LMI EVO gold alloy frets with 14 frets to body and 18 overall frets to the soundhole.  Hand-split spruce bracing on top and back, vintage bone nut and saddle, mother of pearl side dots, professional closed-geared Grover black chrome tuners for precise tuning, paua rosette with BW purfling, and much more.

The theme inlay for the piece is of  the Hawaiian “He’e” or ‘Octopus’ as it approaches its favorite meal, the Cowie shell or “Pu-Pu”.  Headstock inlay: He’e white w/ brown reconstone and mother of pearl. Cowie shell (Pu-Pu): white mop/black mop spots all hand cut and laid at 12th fret.

Rich and complex tones with excellent sustain, clarity, and projection. The instrument is very well balanced tonally all the way up the neck and spot on intonation as well. Highly recommended player piece. And this is a wonderful piece for artists, weekend giggers, and the uke-lover at heart!
