Custom Kanile’a Tenor Ukulele

Beautiful Custom Kanile`a K-4T Tenor Ukulele handcrafted by luthier Joseph Souza of Kailua, Hawaii. Kanile`a instruments are highly sought after, especially the custom models and continue to be loved by weekend musicians, recording artists, and recreational players alike.

This beautiful custom Kanile`a is handcrafted from rare and desirable premium Hawaiian curly koa wood face, back, and sides. The fingerboard and bridge are crafted from gorgeous ebony wood. The instrument has a fourteen fret joint to the body and nineteen overall frets to the soundhole, a classy ivroid top and back celluloid binding with elegant paua shell top purfling and matching rosette. Mahogany neck for added stability. Abalone shell inlay position markers on positions 3, 5, 7, 10, 12, and 15. The [ KU } logo on headstock is inlaid of abalone shell. Open-geared Grover tuners for precise tuning. Nubone nut and saddle, and gorgeous and durable UV cured high gloss finish.

This instrument is a phenomenal player ukulele. Absolutely wonderful tones. The upper and lower bout hairlines are structurally stable and seem to have been there prior to the completion of the instrument. This custom K-4T is new and was not previously owned and the close up photos exaggerate this greatly. In person, however, they are not nearly as dramatic in appearance. The joints are clean and all seams are tight. The body as a whole resonates and not only the soundboard. You can feel the instrument vibrate with each chord picked or strummed. Beautiful tones, great sustain, excellent projection from a very rare custom Kanileʻa tenor ukulele from one of the Hawaii’s most popular ukulele companies.
