Premium golden colored master grade Hawaiian Koa face, back, & sides, musician’s grade ebony fretboard and bridge with an off-white ivroid top and back binding and matching ivroid bound fretboard and headstock, Honduran mahogany wood neck with an ebony wood insert for added stability and increased sustain and a classic TRU bracing system are a few of the wonderful attributes to this gorgeous ukulele. Paua double shell rosette with center mango wood inlay and paua shell inlay on soundboard, back, sides, and on the tie-block area of the ukulele. The instrument also boasts a intricate vine pattern abalone inlay on the fingerboard with side shell position markers for quick top-down reference.
The Po’okela model was designed with both the musician and aesthetics in mind and is a definite recording level instrument and a stellar example of the finest work of Kanile’a ukuleles along with meticulous attention to detail. The Koa is from a private reserve at the custom shop and is even more stunning when seen in person. The shell utilized on the soundboard, sides, and rosette is paua ‘abalone’ shell and the color is consistent all through out the entire instrument. The neck is perfectly straight and the action set well. Professional geared tuners for a traditional look with precise and smooth tuning. This gorgeous uke also has exceptional volume and sustain.
