Preowned. 2017. Beautiful Beau Hannam Tenor Ukulele handcrafted by Australian luthier Beau Hannam who now handcrafts his fine instruments out of his shop in Colorado, USA. Hannam ukuleles are functional pieces of art and have been regarded as some of the finest handcrafted instruments in the world. Each is uniquely handcrafted with the utmost attention to detail and yield a wonderful full tone. His most recent accomplishment was a custom ukulele handcrafted for a benefit fundraiser for former President Jimmy Carter in 2020. Prior to delivery, the special ukulele was played by famed musician, Eddie Vedder.

This beautiful Custom Beau Hannam Tenor Ukulele was meticulously handcrafted with a gorgeous set of Madagascar Rosewood back and sides and a master grade Sinker Redwood soundboard that is absolutely stunning with a phenomenal tap tone. Matching Madagascar Rosewood fretboard with a stepped end or ‘floating frets’ and an ebony wood bridge attesting to the skill and craftsmanship of the luthier. A slotted headstock with Madagascar Rosewood top veneer and back Walnut burl veneer. Spanish Cedar wood neck with sculpted heel for added comfort high up on the neck. Side sound port for monitor-like effect. White mother-of-pearl dot position markers on positions 3, 5, and 7 with a black mother-of-pearl rectangle position marker on position 12 for quick reference. Matching black mother-of-pearl shell inlay end graft with two dot accent inlays of white mother-of-pearl. Ebony wood top and back binding with elegant b-w-b purfling lines on the top, back, side, headstock and fingerboard for aesthetic appeal. Gorgeous rosette that has been crafted of roughly 10 different woods in a mosaic ring. Professional engraved Rodgers tuners fixed with black mother-of-pearl buttons for precise and smooth tuning. Nitrocellulose high gloss finish. Mother-of-pearl heel cap on back of neck – shows slight dimples under shell.

This instrument is absolutely wonderful with excellent projection and sustain. The instrument is well balanced with a nice warm sound and bold low end, wonderful clarity, and spot on intonation. This wood combination of Madagascar Rosewood and Sinker Redwood lends itself to a full and rich sound that will appeal to both the professional musician as well as the recreational player.
