Historical and extremely rare Manuel Nunes deluxe soprano ukulele from the early 1916 in beautifully restored condition. This beautiful piece was handcrafted on the island of Oahu at the turn of the twentieth century and remains in phenomenal collectible and playable condition. Manuel Nunes was one of three luthiers along with Augusto Dias and Jose do Espirito Santo who are credited with inventing the early ukulele.
Gorgeous Hawaiian Koa wood face, back, and sides with all Koa wood neck and bridge. The soundboard and rosette are bound with a classic rope marquetry for aesthetic appeal as a deluxe model. Original Manuel Nunes headstock decal and label remain in exceptional condition. Original ivroid tuner upgrade consistent with time period.
This uke plays wonderfully and is both a nice player uke and a true historical piece as well. A classic ukulele from Hawaii’s golden age.
