1927 Stromberg-Voisinet ‘Aero’ Ukulele

A stunningly beautiful example of a Stromberg-Voisinet ‘Aero’ Ukulele handcrafted in 1927 in commemoration to Charles Lindbergh’s Trans-Atlantic flight. On May 20, 1927 Lindbergh took off in the Spirit of St. Louis from Roosevelt Field, near New York City, at 7:52 A.M. He landed at Le Bourget Field, near Paris, on May 21 at 10:21 P.M. Paris time (5:21 P.M. New York time). Thousands of cheering people had gathered to meet him. This gorgeous piece is only one of a few guitars handcrafted by Kamaka. Kamaka guitars are tremendously rare and highly collectible Hawaiian instruments. This one is handcrafted in the spanish style construction out of gorgeous Hawaiian Koa wood face, back, sides, neck, bridge, and fretboard. The instrument also boasts an elegant rope marquetry rosette and top purfling, bridge pin set up, and original geared slotted-headstock tuners.
