1920s S.S. Stewart Teardrop Soprano Ukulele

In full swing of the ukulele boom, the 1920s offered much to ukulele enthusiasts across the world. One such example was the development of the teardrop shaped ukulele by S.S Stewart based in New York, N.Y. Here is a fine example of the historical ‘teardrop’ ukulele handcrafted with an all mahogany wood face, back, and sides with a rosewood fingerboard. The exaggerated lower bout adds a nice low but mellow tone to the instrument. Overall the instrument remains in wonderful condition given the nearly ninety years of existence since it was built. Faux tortoise shell binding on face and back.
