A rare 1960s Gold Label Deluxe Kamaka “Upside Down” Pineapple ukulele by Hawaii’s most famous ukulele company, Kamaka Ukulele Co.
This beautiful Deluxe Kamaka was a custom order by a left-handed player during the 1960s. It’s a clear reminder that not everyone plays this little four-stringed instrument the same way! This unique uke, when played by a right-hander is quite the eye-catcher being that the ukulele appears “upside down”. Solid Koa face, back, fretboard, bridge & sides with Deluxe top black binding. “Upside Down” Pineapple decal on soundboard and classic “Gold Label” in soundhole. Excellent player ukulele.
Nice projection and warm tones that offer a classic Kamaka sound. Excellent sustain on each chord. The instrument has some crazing or finish checking on the back of the headstock. The instrument includes a period specific chipboard case.
