Luthier Steve Doreen, founder of Lone Tree Guitars & Ukuleles, lives and works in the Cowichan Valley on Vancouver Island BC. With a focus on design innovation and great tone he builds a limited number of instruments per year but some of the most sought after full custom ukuleles out of Canada. Beautiful Hawaiian Koa wood back and sides with a Fir wood soundboard. Fir wood is a tremendous tonewood and is characterized with a solid warm note core with balanced clarity. Gorgeous Western maple wood top and back binding with matching maple arm bevel for comfort when cradling the instrument. Honduras mahogany wood neck with a radiused fretboard for ease of play in the higher positions on the neck. Zero fret construction at the nut of the instrument, which helps the strings rest on the zero fret and not into the nut. Side position markers have been inlaid on the side of the fretboard for a top-down perspective and quick reference. Macassar ebony fretboard and bridge. Side sound port for monitor like experience with the sound firing upward toward the ear of the player as well as outward toward the audience. Beautiful Art Deco designed rosette for a subtle but elegant accent to the piece. Slotted headstock with Lone Tree logo inlaid from Maple wood on the headstock. Nitrocellulose high-gloss finish on the body with a true oil finish on the neck for smooth play. Professional geared tuners for smooth and precise tuning.
This beautiful custom Lone Tree baritone ukulele has a scale of 20.5 inches. Excellent sustain and projection and a true joy to play. Tremendous sustain with warm, rich, and complex tones.
