C.2020. Preowned. Beautiful and rare Collings tenor Ukulele in immaculate original condition and handcrafted out of the custom shop at Collings Guitars in Austin, TX.
This beautiful Custom Collings tenor ukulele is an excellent example of the elegant design and work ethic of the founder of Collings Guitars, the late Mr. Bill Collings. Extremely light in weight with remarkable tone and resonance, this gorgeous Collings tenor ukulele was handcrafted with Hawaiian Koa wood face, back, and sides. An East-Indian rosewood fretboard and bridge with a 12″ radius on the fingerboard has also been incorporated for added comfort in the wrist angle, especially in the higher position. Musicians grade Honduras Mahogany wood neck, consistent with the finest materials used on Collings guitars around the world. Matching East-Indian rosewood headstock veneer and a black-white purfling rosette have also been incorporated into the build in keeping with the simple but elegant theme of this ukulele. Professional Gotoh Planetary geared tuners for quick and precise tuning. Satin nitrocellulose lacquer finish for a smooth-to-the-touch feel. A strap pin has been installed on the side of the neck and at the butt of the instrument.
Collings has discontinued their ukulele line, making this instrument a rare find on the secondary market. It offers a light-weight feel and wonderful sound. Tonally, this instrument is a joy to play. It has an excellent response for both the player who enjoys fingerpicking or strumming. The instrument has excellent balance with a classic Hawaiian Koa midrange that punches through with great clarity. A highly recommend ukulele that would be a wonderful addition to any musician’s arsenal of amazing recording-level instruments. #240003
