Preowned. Absolutely stunning Custom Ko’olau “Small Body” Guitar handcrafted here on the island of Oahu by one of Hawaii’s foremost luthiers, Noa Bonk.
This custom Ko’olau Guitar is a small body design with a huge sound, perfect for studio recording, backyard jams, or recreational enjoyment. This guitar boasts all the added amenities that really lends itself to being both aesthetically pleasing and a wonderful player and recording level instrument. Each year only a limited number of ukulele are made and guitars are far fewer so this instrument is rather rare to come by at the hands of luthier Noa Bonk.
The body of this custom Ko’olau guitar is handcrafted with gorgeous Hawaiian curly Koa wood back and sides from the Tantalus mountains on Oahu with a master grade set of Sitka Bear claw spruce on the soundboard. Instrument grade ebony wood fretboard and bridge. Top and back Hawaiian curly Koa wood binding for aesthetic appeal with complimentary top, back, and side purfling lines. Abalone or ‘paua’ shell rosette adds to an elegant feel of this beautiful guitar. Honduras mahogany wood neck for insured stability and transference of the vibrations back into the body of the instrument. Ebony wood headstock veneer and professional Waverly geared tuners for quick and precise tuning. The instrument also boasts a stylish mother-of-pearl inlay for the Ko’olau logo at the headstock. Mirror-like high gloss finish on the body with satin style finish on the neck allows for the player’s hands to move freely up and down the neck without concern of ‘sticking’ as you play. Bridge pin set up.
Wonderful tones that are clear, crisp, and well projected. Classic Hawaiian Koa wood mid-range with a nice sparkle on the top end with the Bear Claw Sitka spruce soundboard. Excellent projection, sustain, and clarity all the way up the neck. An absolutely fantastic guitar from one of Hawaii’s finest luthiers, Noa Bonk. #230049
