This wonderful Custom Mugendoh Longneck Soprano Ukulele is crafted from a gorgeous master grade set of Japanese Kaki wood face, back, and sides. Otherwise known as Japanese Persimmon wood or White Ebony, this beautiful tree grows to be between 15 – 60 feet in height and is related to the Ebony family of trees. It is tremendously dense, bearing tonal qualities similar to that of Ebony wood as well. The ukulele also incorporates a Cocobolo wood fretboard and bridge and a blonde Kaki wood top and back binding, creating a beautiful feel of contrast and compliment with the rest of the Kaki wood body. Paua or ‘abalone’ shell rosette. In keeping with the theme of the instrument a stylish Kaki wood headstock plate was also used on the headstock with a ‘Mugendoh’ logo inlay in mother-of-pearl shell. The neck is carved from a flamed Hawaiian Koa wood and has a slightly thinner and more flat profile than most soprano or concert ukulele necks. Paua shell position marker inlay on the fretboard for quick reference on positions 3, 5, 7, 10, and 12, and 15 with a 14 fret joint to the body. This ukulele also has a 1.5 inch nut for greater vertical spacing between strings. Perfect for those who fingerpick or need a little more spacing between strings when playing. Bone nut and saddle and a poreless gloss finish. The instrument also boasts musician’s grade open-geared tuners for smooth and precise tuning.
Excellent clarity and projection. A punchy sound with excellent low end and a balanced mid-range. The instrument is also easy to play all the way up the neck and has a slightly thinner profile than most. With the wider nut width it works beautifully and is very comfortable and easy to play. Highly recommended player piece from one of Japan’s best upcoming luthiers. ID#:200008
