Custom Naturel Concert Ukulele

Custom Naturel concert ukulele handcrafted in Japan by master luthier, Naoki Yoshiro. Naoki, a jeweler for over 18 years, turned his fascination and attention to detail to building finely handcrafted ukuleles. Over the years his popularity began to grow due to the wonderful sound and unique aesthetic of his instruments. Today, his instruments are coveted by ukulele musicians and enthusiasts alike throughout Japan and this popularity has led to roughly a two-year backlog on orders.

Tucked away in northern Nagoya, Japan is a gem of a luthier that builds instruments at the crossroads of beauty, uniqueness, functionality and great tone. This gorgeous custom Naturel concert ukulele was handcrafted of flamed Maple wood face, back, and sides, Gabon Ebony wood fingerboard and bridge, and a Walnut wood neck. The instrument has been stained a jade green, paying tribute to Naoki’s past as a master jeweler and his current passion as a master luthier of finely handcrafted ukuleles. Paua abalone shell rosette. A beautiful Naturel logo of a hummingbird has also been inlaid in paua abalone shell on the headstock with a sun inlaid on the 10th position on the fingerboard for quick reference. Very subtle but absolutely beautifully done. The top, back, and headstock have all been bound with a celluloid with black-white-black purflings for aesthetic appeal. A unique scoop cutaway toward the butt of the instrument has also been for added for comfort when cradling the ukulele. The neck has been carved from Walnut and is a 14 fret joint to the body, another unique feature for a concert sized ukulele.

Tonally, this instrument is truly wonderful. It has a big, bold sound with great warmth, clarity, and projection. An excellent instrument for both the professional musician and the ukulele enthusiast at heart. ID#190063
