This custom Ko`olau tenor ukulele is the CS model by designation with all the added amenities that really lends itself to being both aesthetically pleasing and a wonderful player and recording level ukulele. Only a handful of these premium models are handcrafted by master luthier Noa Bonk.
The body is handcrafted with gorgeous master grade Hawaii-grown curly Koa wood back and sides with a Sitka Bear Claw spruce soundboard. Koa wood is amongst the most prized woods aesthetically and tonally in the world and is used by luthiers on the finest ukuleles and guitars. Instrument grade Madagascar rosewood fretboard, bridge, and headstock plate. Top and back Hawaiian curly Koa wood binding for aesthetic appeal with gorgeous abalone shell rosette and mother-of-pearl position markers on positions 5, 7, 10, 12, and 15. Beautiful top, back, and sides purfling lines provide a feel of sophisticated elegance to the instrument. Slotted headstock for increased sustain with a Honduras mahogany wood neck for insured stability. Classy Madagascar rosewood headstock veneer and professional Waverly slotted-headstock geared tuners for precise tuning. The instrument also boasts a stylish mother-of-pearl inlay for the Ko`olau logo on the headstock. Satin finish on body with satin finish on the neck allows for the player’s hands to move freely up and down the neck without concern of ‘sticking’ as you play. Radiused fretboard. Tonally, this beautiful Custom Ko’olau CS Tenor Ukulele is a true recording-level instrument with nice deep rich low tones and well balanced mid-range and high tones as well. Wonderful clarity, sustain, and projection all the way up the neck.
