Constructed of gorgeous straight-grain Hawaiian Koa face, back, and sides, this custom piece is set up with a solid rosewood fretboard with 5mm abalone shell position markers on the fretboard for quick reference and matching 3mm abalone shell side position markers on the side profile of the neck for a top-down perspective. Simple white-black-white rosette, Spanish cedar neck with graphite rod for added stability and increased sustain, and a Hawaiian Koa wood faceplate with classic ‘L’ logo of mother-of-pearl. Quarter sawn rosewood bridge, hand cut bone nut and saddle with black bindings on the top and back of the instrument for added protection.
Excellent original condition with a few minor surface strum marks. Please see detailed photos. A beautiful and rare piece that rings true with wonderful tones, rich and clear, and handcrafted here in Hawaii. The tones on this uke are absolutely breathtaking. Very warm and precise and full all the way up the neck. Highly recommended in craftsmanship and tone and amongst the best and rarest to be built in Hawaii.
