Custom ukuleles by Kawika Ukulele. Beautiful Kawika 6-String Tenor Ukulele in excellent near mint condition. This piece is tremendously rare and was handcrafted by David “Kawika” Hurd of the Big Island of Hawaii, one of Hawaii’s finest luthiers.
David Hurd has since retired from his passion of building ukuleles but his instruments are amongst the most desired and rare Hawaii-made ukuleles around. They have a wonderful tone and are excellent for both the recreational player and professional musician.
This beautiful Kawika 6-String tenor ukulele was handcrafted of AAA Hawaiian Koa face, back, & sides with an Gaboon ebony wood fingerboard and bridge. Rare Hawaiian Koa wood neck with a beautiful lacquer finish. The instrument has a sound that is symphony-like in nature. Very warm and full sounding with a clean low and mid-range area. Perfect both as an accompanying instrument and for musicians who enjoy the range and tonal offerings of the 6-string arrangement. The action is set well and it’s a true wonder for playability. Kawika Ukuleles are quite rare to surface on the open market but they are coveted for their excellent construction and incredible tones.
