Beautiful and extremely rare Jonah Kumalae deluxe soprano ukulele from the early 1920s in gorgeous restored condition. This beautiful piece was handcrafted on the island of Oahu at the turn of the twentieth century and remains as a historical piece from Hawaii’s yesteryear.
Gorgeous Hawaiian curly Koa wood face, back, and sides with all Koa wood neck and bridge. The soundboard and rosette are bound with a classic rope marquetry with a matching zipper rope marquetry on the fretboard for aesthetic appeal. Original Jonah Kumalae decal on the headstock. Narrow waist model which is consistent with some of the earlier pieces to have been made by Kumalae. A few well done repairs have been done to this beautiful little instrument.
This uke plays wonderfully and is both a nice player uke and a true historical piece as well. A classic ukulele from Hawaii’s golden age.
