Hand-split spruce bracing on top and back, vintage bone nut and saddle, mother of pearl side dots, professional closed-geared Grover black chrome tuners for precise tuning, paua rosette with BW purfling, and much more.
The theme inlay for the piece is of the Hawaiian “He’e” or ‘Octopus’ as it approaches its favorite meal, the Cowie shell or “Pu-Pu”. Headstock inlay: He’e white w/ brown reconstone and mother of pearl. Cowie shell (Pu-Pu): white mop/black mop spots all hand cut and laid at 12th fret.
Rich and complex tones with excellent sustain, clarity, and projection. The instrument is very well balanced tonally all the way up the neck and spot on intonation as well. Highly recommended player piece. And this is a wonderful piece for artists, weekend giggers, and the uke-lover at heart!
