1960s Martin Tenor Ukulele

Beautiful Martin Tenor Ukulele. Rare 14 fret model of the 1960s. Wonderful original condition. All mahogany face, back, and sides with rosewood fretboard and bridge. Tortoise shell (faux) binding on face and back.

No cracks or repairs and no needed repairs. All original condition with the original hardcase. There is some minor strum marks, nicks, and checking in the finish but overall it’s in wonderful condition and plays beautifully. Perfect intonation and a resonation that only a Classic Martin can offer.

There is also a signature on the inside by, “C.F. Martin IV”. C.F. Martin IV is the sixth-generation Martin to run the company since it has been established in 1833. I contacted the Artist & Public Relations specialist, Mr. Dick Boak, at C.F. Martin & Co. and he has been tremendously helpful in assisting to verify the signature. I am enclosing a photo of his return email to me below. Here is what it states.

“To the best of my knowledge, I believe the signature inside your uke is authentic. Any differences between yours and Chris’s actual signature (below) are easily understood given the Chris signed without the luxury of being able to put his hand inside the uke.”

1960年 代の１４フレットの美しいマーチンウクレレです。マホガニーがボディーに使われておりフレットボードとブリッジはローズウッドです。鼈甲のバイディングが フェイスとバックに入っています。当時の状態のままのウクレレでヒビ、修理の跡もなく修理の必要もありません。細かいストラムマーク、フィニッシュに細か い傷がありますがとてもよい状態に保たれており、音もイントネーションもクラシックなマーチンでならではです。このウクレレには６代目 C.F.マーチンのサインが入っています。このサインの写真をとってマーチン社の方に問い合わせたところこのサインは実際に６代目、クリスさんのサインであるという返事をメールでいただきました。そのメールの写真も載せてありますのでご覧になって下さい。
