This custom Ko’olau ukulele is a model 200 by designation but was ordered with a $1,000 upgrade rare varnish finish which allows the instrument to resonate like no other finish. Highly recommended player uke!
The body is handcrafted with gorgeous flaming Hawaiian AAA Koa face, back and sides, The fingerboard and bridge is crafted from ebony wood for optimal tone. There is also a matching ebony wood headstock plate and single top soundboard binding of ebony wood for aesthetic appeal. The instrument also boasts a gorgeous rope marquetry rosette, top purfling, and center strip down the fretboard as well. Mother-of-pearl inlay for the position markers on positions 7 and 12 for quick and easy reference and Ko`olau logo on the headstock. Professional Grover open-geared tuners for precise tuning and a tone that is absolutely wonderful for the casual uke player, the weekend musician, and the recording artist!
The tone and sustain of the instrument is clear, crisp, and well projected. Nice deep rich low tones and well balanced mid-range and high tones as well. Excellent projection, sustain, and clarity all the way up the neck.
A traditional tone that rings true “Hawaii” with every strum and a custom piece that is rarely available. Includes hard case.
