Custom Kamaka Tenor Ukulele handcrafted by the world famous Kamaka Ukulele Co. This piece is tremendously rare being a full custom model complete with the finest materials and full shell inlay. Custom Kamaka Ukuleles are amongst the best sounding, most desired and rare Hawaii-made player ukuleles around and tremendously difficult to come by with the company not accepting orders for custom pieces.

This beautiful Custom Kamaka ukulele boasts a gorgeous Hawaiian curly Koa wood back & sides with a musicians grade Sitka spruce top soundboard. 14-fret joint to the neck with 18 overall frets to the soundhole. Elegant top, back, and side purfling lines, musicians grade Ebony wood fingerboard and bridge, and matching Ebony wood headstock plate. Refined Rosewood top and back binding,  a gorgeous B-W-B and abalone shell top purfling with matching abalone shell rosette, and a solid Honduras mahogany wood neck for added stability and sustain are a few amenities to this rare beauty. This ukulele has also been finished in a poreless satin style finish for smooth play and comes equipped with Schaller professional geared tuners for precise tuning.

This beauty rings classic ‘Hawaii’. What can I say, custom Kamaka ukes are amazing! I’ve owned a number of custom Kamaka ukuleles thus far and each one (all koa body,redwood top with maple wood back and sides, or spruce top with koa back and sides) each has its own aesthetic appeal in my opinion but they all play and sound incredible!

The spruce top really brightens the sound and makes for a remarkable combination of tones with the all koa wood back and sides. The instrument was first constructed in 2011 but was finished at a later date and was one that I wanted to showcase for your enjoyment. These are the gems that are lying around the Kamaka factory waiting patiently for its turn to be finished for musicians worldwide. I’ve come across a few of these custom Kamaka ukes built with a spruce top and this one is certainly one that stands out tonally in a great way! Crisp, clean and precise. Nice deep and complex low tones with excellent mid-range and crisp high too. Great projection as well. There is certainly a player’s presence and historical appeal – about it.
