Custom Vento Concert Ukulele

A beautiful new Custom Vento Concert Ukulele built on the island of Hawai’i. This one was started in August of 2015 and was just completed a few days ago. It is absolutely stunning in appearance and plays wonderfully!

This Custom Vento Concert Ukulele has its back and sides handcrafted of rare and coveted Hawaiian Milo wood, handpicked on the Island of Hawai’i and the soundboard was fashioned from musician’s grade Cedar wood that has been perfectly quartersawn. The neck has been carved from solid Honduran mahogany wood for added stability and increased sustain on the instrument. The fretboard has been slightly radiused for ease of play on the wrist angle of the player and was crafted of Macassar Ebony wood with a matching Ebony wood bridge and headstock plate. Classic tie-bridge construction with the top and back binding, fretboard binding, and headstock binding handcrafted from prized Hawaiian curly Koa wood, harvested from fallen logs removed from the Koa belt on the island of Hawai’i, roughly 4,000 – 6,000 feet elevation above sea level. The Hawaiian Koa binding presents an elegant contrast with that of the Hawaiian Milo wood, which only grows in coastal areas near the shoreline and instrument grade pieces remain extremely challenging to locate. Gorgeous abalone shell top purfling and matching rosette and ‘Vento’ logo inlay on the headstock with matching diamond shaped position markers for quick reference. The tuners are professional Grover open-geared tuners with black buttons and a 14:1 gear ratio for precise tuning. Bone nut and saddle and a high gloss poreless nitrocellulose finish.

This beauty really sings and has excellent volume and sustain. Wonderful tonal range with crisp and balanced highs as well. Nows your chance to have a phenomenal player instrument from one of Hawaii’s hidden luthiers, Fred Vento of the Big Island of Hawai’i. Only a few instruments are handcrafted yearly.
